Who can apply?

Applications are open to those who have graduated within the last two years and who have achieved a minimum of 2:1 in an undergraduate degree or above. If you have achieved a qualification higher than this level within the last two years you can also apply.

I want to apply for both the housing and business roles, do I need to submit two applications?

No, if you want to apply for both positions you only need to complete one application pack. However, remember to make it clear at the top of the application form you are applying for both positions.

I have applied before, can I apply again?

Yes, providing you still meet the essential criteria and have graduated within the last two years.

Does Wheatley Group sponsor international students?

Successful candidates will be subject to Right to Work in the UK checks. Wheatley Group will not provide employer sponsorship for visas.

I have a disability. What workplace adjustments can I expect?

Please tell us about your disability. If you require adjustments to complete the recruitment process you will be given the opportunity to indicate this and we will arrange this for you. If successful, your adjustments will be agreed with you at subsequent stages.

What departments will the business positions be in?

Our business trainee positions could be placed in any of our corporate business support teams, including: procurement, legal, employee relations, governance, communications, finance, new-build and development, internal assurance and IT.  We cannot guarantee the department placement of positions.

How long before I know if my application has been successful for the next stage?

You will not hear about the outcome of your application until after the closing date has passed. We aim to respond to applicants as quickly as possible after shortlisting has taken place. However, due to the volume of expected applications, we would ask you to be patient. We will respond to everyone who submits an application even if it is not successful. Please contact us if you have not heard back from us within one month of the closing date.

How will I be contacted?

We will contact you via the email address listed on your application form or your phone number. Please keep an eye on your junk mailbox in case anything received goes in there.

Can I get feedback if I’m unsuccessful?

Yes, you can request feedback. We will arrange a suitable time with you.

What happens if I am successful?

Successful candidates will provisionally start the week commencing 19 October 2020. However, this is subject to ongoing changes around the coronavirus pandemic. You will receive a virtual induction, and where Covid-19 precautions permit, face-to-face training workshops. We will quickly immerse you in a full training programme to help you learn as much as possible early in your role.

When would I start my qualification as part of the graduate programme?

You will undertake your CIH Level 4, or equivalent level housing qualification, in 2021.

What is the recruitment process?

If you are successful following initial application, you will be invited to take part in a virtual assessment centre. As part of the recruitment process you will have a panel interview. This may take place during or after the assessment centre depending on shortlisted numbers. As a final stage you may also be required to virtually meet with our Executive Team. We will update you on the recruitment process if you have been shortlisted for the next stage.

I currently work for Wheatley Group, can I apply?

Yes, if you have graduated within the last two years with a minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree (or higher level qualification) and meet the essential job requirements in the role profile.

I want to submit a late application, will this be considered?

We are not accepting late applications. All applications must be received by the closing date and time.
