Spacious new Lowther home is a dream come true for Nattalie

Nattalie McCulloch couldn’t believe her luck when she landed the keys to her new home.

Nattalie McCulloch is delighted with her home in Braehead.

Nattalie and her teenage son Jack had been living in a series of cold and damp private lets with sky-high heating costs when she landed the Lowther Homes new-build apartment in Braehead.

The flat, in the Ferry Village development, is one of 24 built by Barratt Homes West Scotland and recently bought by Lowther Homes, which has a growing portfolio of almost 700 homes for mid-market and full-market rent.

Nattalie, a residential childcare worker, and Jack, 17, are among the latest tenants to move into the one and two-bedroom flats which come with 24-hour customer service, affordable rents and a parking space.

Nattalie said: “I’m delighted to be lucky enough to rent one of these fabulous new homes.

“They are a great size and there is loads of space and storage - which isn’t always the case with new properties.

“It’s like a dream – I can’t believe I live here. I loved it from the first moment I viewed the flat.”

Gillian Lavety, Director at Wheatley Group, Lowther’s parent company, said: “We want to give people, especially those who are struggling to get on the property ladder, a range of options for affordable, quality housing.

“These brand new homes are already proving really popular and are part of our plans to build or acquire hundreds of new affordable homes over the next five years and drive up standards in the private rented sector.”

Rents for the Ferry Village apartments start at £500. Each flat has fitted floor coverings, fully-fitted kitchens and bathrooms and each flat has its own parking space. The two bedroom properties also have ensuite bathrooms. The development is close to the M8 motorway and adjacent to Soar.
