Repairs Business Support Assistant
Do you want to work with a values-driven organisation that makes a difference to people’s lives? Come and join Wheatley as a Repairs Business Support Assistant.
About the role
As a Repairs Business Support Assistant, you will play a key role in providing business management and back-office support across the Wheatley Homes South and Wheatley Homes East repairs function.
Working closely with Business Support colleagues, Area Repairs Managers, Trade Team Leaders, operatives, planners, suppliers and Wheatley’s Finance and Performance teams, you will help ensure our in-house repairs service is efficient, well managed and focused on positive customer outcomes.
Your work will include using and improving key repairs systems, supporting financial and performance reporting, managing materials information and inventory controls, and helping operational teams and suppliers work effectively together. You will analyse repairs and customer data, identify trends or discrepancies, support value for money and contribute to policies, procedures and continuous improvement activity.
You will also help track damp and mould cases across Wheatley systems, monitor milestones and risks, maintain accurate records and escalate high-risk, complex or sensitive cases appropriately. By championing customer feedback and a “think yes” approach, you will help us deliver a consistent Healthy Homes customer journey.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a confident and organised professional with experience in a reactive repairs or housing environment. You will be comfortable managing and interrogating data, working with contractors and suppliers, and communicating clearly with internal and external partners.
You should have experience of job management, dynamic scheduling or housing management systems and understand how to work within a regulatory compliance framework. Experience supporting key systems used by repairs teams would be advantageous, as would a recognised qualification or a strong track record in a business management or support role within repairs, maintenance or housing.
You will be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, manage your time effectively and take ownership of your learning and continuous improvement. Strong communication, interpersonal and digital skills are essential, along with the ability to build productive networks, find creative solutions and remove barriers to excellent customer service.
