As the UK’s largest builder of social rented homes over the past decade, we are proud to be one of the country’s most highly accredited organisations. Our work continues to be recognised nationally and internationally, with awards for excellence in housing, customer service, community impact and communications.

In 2024, Wheatley was once again named the UK’s biggest builder of homes for social rent. In 2026, we were also named Home Builder of the Year - Affordable Housing Provider at the Homes for Scotland Awards, reflecting our continued commitment to tackling the housing crisis and delivering new, energy-efficient homes across the country.

Also in 2024, we completed our 7000th home, which was handed over to a tenant at the West Craigs development in Edinburgh at an event attended by the Scottish Government’s housing minister.

We are also committed to helping tackle Scotland’s homelessness crisis. Having previously committed to making 10,000 homes available to people experiencing homelessness by 2026, we are now making an additional 1000 homes available to local authorities across Scotland.

But Wheatley is about much more than homes. We provide an award-winning range of wraparound services that help make homes and lives better for more than 210,000 customers across 19 local authority areas. This builds on our track record as a previous Global Excellence Award winner, recognised by the European Foundation of Quality Management.

Over the past decade, Wheatley’s Registered Social Landlords have created more than 11,000 jobs and 2000 training places, working with partners to help break the cycle of poverty and exclusion that many of our customers experience.

Our partner organisations are firmly rooted in the communities they serve, working together to deliver affordable homes, support regeneration and create opportunities for people across Scotland.
