Board opportunities

Wheatley Group is Scotland’s leading housing, care and property-management group and one of the UK’s best-accredited organisations.

Through our subsidiary partners we own or manage over 81,000 homes and delivers award-winning services to over 200,000 people across Scotland.  We are looking to recruit Non-Executive Directors across our Group partners as follows:

Barony Housing Association (Charitable Registered Social Landlord)

We’re looking for people with skills and experience in one or more of the following areas to join our Board:

  • Social Policy
  • Health and Social Care
  • Care and support services

The Board meets 6-8 times per annum at our office at 8 New Mart Road, Edinburgh.  Meetings are normally on Thursday evenings.  In addition to Board meetings attendance is required at 3 half day Group wide governance events per annum and an annual Board strategy workshop.

The role is non-remunerated but all reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

Cube Housing Association (Charitable Registered Social Landlord)

We’re looking for one individual with skills and senior experience in one or more of the following areas to join our Board:

  • Public Sector
  • Organisational strategy and policy development
  • Business transformation/Strategic change management
  • Provision of customer services (in a housing or other similar context)

The Board meets 6-8 times per annum at our office at Maryhill Burgh Halls, Glasgow.  Meetings are normally on Tuesday evenings.  In addition to Board meetings attendance is required at 3 half day Group wide governance events per annum and an annual Board strategy workshop.

The role is non-remunerated but all reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

Loretto Housing Association (Charitable Registered Social Landlord)

We’re looking for individuals with skills and senior experience in one or more of the following areas to join our Board:

  • General commercial business, financial & management skills
  • Accountancy and audit, knowledge of relevant statutory requirements
  • Provision of customer services (in a housing or other similar context)
  • Housing management and maintenance of social housing
  • Customer and community engagement

The Board meets 6-8 times per annum at our office at Lipton House, 170 Crown Street, Glasgow.  Meetings are normally on Tuesday evenings.  In addition to Board meetings attendance is required at 3 half day Group wide governance events per annum and an annual Board strategy workshop.

The role is non-remunerated but all reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

Lowther Homes Limited (non charitable/commercial)

We’re looking for individuals with skills and senior experience in one or more of the following areas to join our Board:

  • General commercial business, financial & management skills
  • Accountancy and audit, knowledge of relevant statutory requirements
  • Information technology and business systems
  • Business change in a digital context
  • Factoring and property management

The Board meets 4 times per annum and rotates between our Edinburgh and Glasgow offices.   Meetings are normally on Monday mornings.  In addition to Board meetings, attendance is required at 3 half day Group wide governance events per annum and an annual Board strategy workshop.

The role is non-remunerated but all reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

Loretto Care (Charitable registered care provider)

We’re looking for individuals with skills and senior experience in one or more of the following areas to join our Board:

  • General commercial business, financial & management skills
  • Accountancy and audit, knowledge of relevant statutory requirements
  • Social Policy
  • Health and Social Care
  • Care and support services

The Board meets 6 times per annum at its office at Lipton House, 170 Crown Street, Glasgow.   Meetings are normally on Monday evenings.  In addition to Board meetings, attendance is required at 3 half day Group wide governance events per annum and an annual Board strategy workshop.

The role is non-remunerated but all reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

West Lothian Housing Partnership (Charitable Registered Social Landlord)

We’re looking for one individual with skills and senior experience in one or more of the following areas to join our Board:

  • General commercial business, financial & management skills
  • Accountancy and audit, knowledge of relevant statutory requirements
  • Performance management, value for money and continuous improvement
  • Involvement in planning/delivery of a Value for Money strategy, in a housing or similar organisation

The Board meets 6-8 times per annum at our office at 62 North Bridge Street, Bathgate, Glasgow.  Meetings are normally on Tuesday evenings.  In addition to Board meetings attendance is required at 3 half day Group wide governance events per annum and an annual Board strategy workshop.

The role is non-remunerated but all reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
