About the role

As a Building Pathology Surveyor, you will play a key role in protecting and enhancing the safety, performance and long‑term value of Wheatley’s diverse housing stock. You will undertake detailed technical assessments, diagnose complex building defects and develop evidence‑led repair and investment solutions that improve outcomes for our customers.

Working across a wide range of residential building archetypes, you will provide professional technical advice to colleagues, support responses to customer complaints and inform preventative maintenance and investment programmes. You will collaborate closely with teams across assets, repairs, housing, sustainability and compliance, as well as external specialists where required. You will contribute to strategic asset planning and innovative approaches to managing building pathology challenges, including damp, mould, condensation and future net zero priorities.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a motivated, technically capable professional who can work confidently on their own initiative while contributing effectively within a collaborative environment. You will be solutions‑focused, well‑organised and comfortable managing your own workload in a complex and changing organisation. Strong professional judgement, clear communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels are essential. You will have a customer‑focused mindset, demonstrate commercial awareness and be committed to continuous professional development. A willingness to embrace innovation, use technology to improve outcomes and act ethically and with integrity will be key to your success in this role.
