Start your career. Shape your future.

Are you ready to take the first step in your career and make a real difference in people’s lives?

We’re looking for enthusiastic, motivated individuals to join our Housing Apprenticeship Programme at Wheatley Group. This is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn, gain hands-on experience, and build a career with purpose in your local community.

The programme

Over two years, you’ll support frontline housing roles, learning directly from experienced housing professionals and gaining the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the housing sector.

You will carry out rotations through different teams to enhance your learning while working. As well as this, you will complete a nationally recognised housing qualification that will further enhance your learning and development. Every day will be different, and your work will have a real impact in our communities.

What we offer

As a Wheatley apprentice, you’ll receive:

  • a structured training and development plan;
  • a nationally recognised housing qualification;
  • one-to-one mentoring and support; and
  • real work experience from day one.

Plus, a great benefits package including:

  • £27,000 salary;
  • 41 days of holiday (including public holidays);
  • pension scheme;
  • discounts with major retailers; and
  • support with driving lessons, gym memberships, and healthcare costs.

You’ll be based in our offices and hubs in Glasgow.

Who we’re looking for

We want to hear from people who are:

  • passionate about helping others;
  • eager to learn and grow; and
  • keen to build a career in housing.

What you will need:

  • be aged 16 or over by September 2025;
  • be legally entitled to work in the UK;
  • complete a basic disclosure check; and
  • National 5 level or equivalent in English and one other subject.

At Wheatley we are always looking to improve diversity within our teams. We want to create an inclusive environment where everyone can contribute their best work and develop to their full potential. We celebrate our differences and recognise the importance of our teams reflecting the communities we serve. We welcome applications from any underrepresented groups.

We want all our candidates to shine. If you need any reasonable adjustments to help you feel more comfortable during the recruitment process, please contact Rachel Young on 07867291367 or rachel.young@wheatley-group.com.
