Contracts and Complex Repairs Officer
Wheatley Homes South is looking for an experienced professional to join our dynamic Repairs Team.
In this role, you will be responsible for the project and contract management of repairs services to client organisations and the management of formal contracts with external partners. The role will involve the management of structural related works, mini projects, large planned and cyclical works, and void management.
You will be responsible for delivering a high quality, customer-focused service within your areas of responsibility, taking ownership of all repairs carried out by both in-house trades and sub-contractors. You will carry out pre and post inspections as required to audit workmanship and the quality of repair, manage health & safety, asbestos, legislative compliance, and complaint investigations and draft responses as required.
You must be willing to participate in our on-call rota.
You will demonstrate a positive and proactive approach to problem solving and have a track record of success in delivering the highest standards of customer service.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues across our repairs, asset, and housing teams, providing expert technical advice and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, and internal policies.
Key responsibilities:
- contract management of repairs services delivered to client organisations and management of contracts with external partners;
- project management of mini projects including planned, cyclical and void works;
- formal administration of contracts including reviewing outputs, KPIs and key deliverables;
- ensuring that contracts deliver value for money to Wheatley Homes South and making recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of contracts;
- to inspect complex works, diagnose using root cause analysis and order remedial work as required; and
- undertaking void inspections for client and Wheatley Homes South properties.
Experience and qualifications:
- experience of performance and contract management services to deliver agreed targets and outcomes;
- managing works within budget to agreed time, cost and quality standards;
- management of contractors in relation to compliance and health and safety;
- provision of technical solutions and advice;
- managing mini projects and complex works including major void repairs, cyclical programmes and investment works;
- excellent IT skills;
- operating in a customer-focused environment;
- recognised trade qualification or project management qualification; and
- full driving licence.

The role will involve travel requirements to customers’ homes, and Wheatley Homes South and client properties throughout Dumfries and Galloway therefore a driving licence is required.
