About the role

The role involves supporting the Director of Assurance, the Information Governance Solicitor, and the Information Governance Officers who manage and advise the business on information matters including records management.

This role will involve:

  • supporting the daily activities of the Information Governance team, including supporting projects involving the Assurance Team across Wheatley Group;
  • the collation and redacting of information, and support with the preparation of responses to requests which fall under Data Protection legislation (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA), the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004 (EIRs), and document specifications. This will involve liaising with internal teams to ensure Wheatley Group respond within statutory and reporting timescales; and
  • supporting the development and maintenance of digital tools such as MS Forms and Lists (for example the Teams case tracker and data breach log), applying SharePoint retention labels, monitoring information governance mailboxes, tracking data breaches, contributing to training and awareness initiatives across group and providing assistance with corporate and information governance tasks.

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have:

  • a working knowledge of Data Protection, FOISA, the EIRs and information security;
  • experience of writing appropriate responses to Subject Access Requests, Data Protection/FOISA/EIRs requests to customers;
  • working knowledge of SharePoint and/or other Wheatley systems; and
  • track record of communicating and liaising with senior managers to collate information.
